Stapler is a commonly used medical instrument in surgery, which has a wide range of clinical applications, but its basic working principle is based on the B-shaped stitching pattern. Taking the endoscope stapler as an example, it is mainly composed of a cartridge, a handle, and a transmission component, among which there is a blade in the staple box, which can complete tissue disconnection while anastomosing the staple and tissue. There are 6 rows of staples in the cartridge. After the tissue is cut off, 3 rows of anastomosis nails on each side are bent into a "B" shape under the action of the nail holder to complete the tissue nailing.

With the development of modern science and technology and the progress of processing technology, disposable stapler has gradually replaced the reusable stapler, and the type has developed from a single digestive tract stapler to a series of stapler which can be used in different operations and different parts. According to the structure and function, stapler can be divided into 8 types, such as linear stapler, ring stapler and anorectal stapler. According to different surgical methods, stapler can be divided into open stapler and endoscopic stapler. Among them, endoscopic stapler has the advantages of small local trauma, light stress reaction, quick postoperative recovery, etc., and it is increasingly respected by clinical surgeons at home and abroad.

Stapler is a medical instrument to replace the traditional manual suture in surgical operation. It is mainly used for the dissection, excision, anastomosis of various cavities and diseased tissues in human body and the reconstruction of organ function. With the development of minimally invasive surgery, stapler anastomosis has gradually replaced manual suture as the main way of abdominal anastomosis in digestive tract reconstruction surgery. In recent years, with the widespread application and popularity of stapler in clinical practice, the stapler industry has ushered in rapid development.

The emergence of stapling devices benefits doctors and patients, but there are still postoperative complications, such as anastomotic fistula, anastomotic stenosis and anastomotic bleeding, which may even threaten the life safety of patients. Relevant studies have shown that postoperative complications are related to a variety of factors, including the patient's physique, the doctor's professional level and the level of operation. At present, mechanical staplers are mostly used clinically, which require manual pressing and firing. Doctors need to judge the pressing time, pressing strength and cutting speed required by anastomosis based on personal experience, and select the corresponding anastomosis nail according to tissue thickness, which means that the anastomosis effect largely depends on the operation level of doctors.

In order to establish a more safe and effective anastomosis, in the process of using the stapler, it is necessary to ensure uniform force, appropriate tissue pressing strength, appropriate pressing time and the selection of nail chamber suitable for tissue thickness. All these put forward higher requirements for surgeons, and the electrization and intellectualization of the stapler is an effective way to solve these problems.

In the future, stapler technology will be further innovated by combining with artificial intelligence and robot technology to accelerate the stapler to the intelligent era. At present, there are already some semi-intelligent anastomosis platforms in the market, but these anastomosis platforms are more inclined to automation, and there is a big gap with the real intelligence. In the future, the intelligent stapler will be connected to the surgical robot together with the intelligent feedback system. During the anastomosis operation of the tissue, the parameters such as tissue thickness, pressing and cutting intensity can be fed back in real time, so that the doctor can have a more comprehensive grasp of the patient's surgical situation and make the operation more intelligent and simple.
